Vampire Crawlers: What It Is, and Whether It's Worth $9.99¶
Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard from Vampire Survivors is the spin-off poncle made after Vampire Survivors, and it is not another bullet-heaven. It is a turn-based, card-driven, first-person dungeon crawler: you build a deck, play cards in ascending mana order to raise a combo multiplier, and carry that deck through nine dungeons. It launched on 21 April 2026 for PC, Switch, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S at $9.99, joined Game Pass on day one, and reached iOS and Android on 12 October 2026 with the free Death Parade update.

What the gameplay actually feels like¶
The gameplay loop is three steps on repeat: pick a dungeon on the world map, play cards in ascending mana cost to keep the combo multiplier climbing, then spend the gold and gems you earned in the Village between runs. There is no real-time dodging and no aiming: every "fight" is a hand of cards, and every card either damages the front row, draws more cards, or buys you another turn of setup. Runs last 15–25 minutes; the deck you carry between them is the progression.
That is also why the deck matters more than the equipment early on: a thicker deck dilutes your good draws, so the first skill to learn is refusing cards.
Two clocks: 15–25 minutes, and 17½ hours¶
A single run is 15–25 minutes (FAQ). That is the size of one sitting: read the hand, order the mana costs, clear what is in front of you, and decide whether to push deeper.
The campaign is 17½ hours for the main story, the HowLongToBeat average across 83 submissions, and 25–26 hours for all 161 achievements. The length page also does the division: nine dungeons across that total works out to just under two hours each (full breakdown).
Those numbers answer different questions, and they are not meant to be multiplied. The session length answers whether you can start now. The campaign total answers whether the purchase earns its $9.99. The catch sits between them: there is no mid-run save, so quitting halfway loses the run (save behaviour). Plan on 15–25 uninterrupted minutes at a time, not a free evening.
Is it worth $9.99?¶
Value is not the sticking point: $9.99 buys a 17½-hour main story, a 25–26-hour completion and free content updates. Whether it lands depends on what you want from a card game.
Play it if¶
- You want the Survivors arsenal without the bullet-heaven. Whip, King Bible, Garlic and Pentagram come back as cards, with 18 evolution recipes to chase (evolutions).
- You like sequencing more than drafting. The combo rewards ascending mana order, and the deck comes from a known pool rather than a per-run draft, so a better run comes from ordering rather than from finding a rare card (combo guide).
- You want a cheap, complete package. $9.99, no paid DLC, a full campaign, and a Steam demo if you would rather test the loop before paying.
Skip it if¶
- You wanted more Vampire Survivors. The auto-attack and the 30-minute survival timer are gone. This is turn-based, and the first hour feels slow if action was the appeal (three-way comparison).
- You want Slay the Spire's depth. Crawlers is the lighter game by design, and one reviewer says the repetition sets in before hour 30 (review roundup).
- Your play time arrives in five-minute gaps. A run is 15–25 minutes and cannot be saved midway (FAQ).
What $9.99 includes¶
The content count is the argument for the price: 25 Crawlers, 62 gems, 19 relics, 16 Arcana, 18 evolutions and 9 dungeon families, with 161 achievements on top (roster, gems, relics and Arcana, evolutions, dungeon order, achievement list). The October Death Parade update added three stages, four gems and four Arcana at no cost (what changed), which is why today's totals sit above the launch numbers quoted in older guides.
